An established and successful building services contractor is seeking a Mechanical Contracts Manager to help grow their newly formed Mechanical Division.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong and ambitious mechanical professional to take responsibility for the successful delivery of projects while playing a key role in the continued development and expansion of the company's mechanical operations.
The contractor delivers mechanical building services projects across a diverse range of sectors, including distribution centres, healthcare, retail, education, offices, MOD, universities and commercial developments.
The Role
As Mechanical Contracts Manager, you will take responsibility for managing mechanical projects from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, on programme, to the required quality standards and within budget.
Working closely with the senior management team, you will manage clients, subcontractors, site teams and project stakeholders while supporting the continued growth of the mechanical division.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage mechanical contracts from pre-construction through to completion.
- Oversee project delivery, ensuring works are completed on time, within budget and to specification.
- Coordinate mechanical installations with clients, consultants, subcontractors and other trades.
- Manage and support site teams, supervisors and project personnel.
- Monitor project programmes, progress, costs and quality.
- Manage commercial aspects of contracts, including variations, valuations and cost control.
- Identify project risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and company standards.
- Maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.
- Attend site meetings and provide regular updates to senior management.
- Support the development of processes and procedures within the mechanical division.
- Assist with securing future work and contributing to the continued growth of the business.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Contracts Manager or similar.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical building services installation.
- Experience working for a building services contractor or M&E contractor.
- Experience managing multiple projects and subcontractors.
- Good commercial and contractual awareness.
- Relevant mechanical qualifications or substantial industry experience.
- Valid CSCS and SMSTS certification.
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- A proactive, professional and solutions-focused approach.
- The ambition to contribute to the growth of an expanding mechanical division.
