Role Purpose

The Electrical Qualifying Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all electrical installation and maintenance work carried out by the company meets the required regulatory and quality standards.

The role involves supervising and auditing electrical works, mentoring operatives, maintaining compliance with BS7671.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and sign off electrical works to ensure compliance with BS7671 and Building Regulations.
  • Carry out inspection, testing, and certification of electrical installations.
  • Conduct internal audits of compliance works and contribute to maintaining high external audit performance.
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation through the company's bespoke compliance software system.
  • Provide technical support and mentoring to electricians and apprentices.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal project teams to ensure effective communication and smooth project delivery.
  • Ensure all works are completed in line with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Electrical Services team.

Person Specification

Qualifications & Certifications

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
  • City & Guilds 2391 (or equivalent inspection and testing qualification).

Experience & Knowledge

  • Proven experience in domestic electrical work, ideally within education, social housing or refurbishment projects.
  • Strong understanding of NICEIC or NAPIT certification and compliance requirements.
  • Experience supervising or mentoring electricians/apprentices.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to electrical works.

  • Strong IT literacy and confidence using digital tools and compliance management systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
